In 2007, my daughter was ready for kindergarten and beginning pre-algebra at the same time.  To allow her to work at her pace, I decided to homeschool her and my son.  I homeschooled my children using techniques and lessons I learned as a college professor.
During our 15 years of homeschooling, I put all our homeschool focus on developing foundation skills concentrating on:

  • Critical Thinking

  • Problem-Solving

  • Creativity

  • Research

  • Communication Skills

I chose to focus on skills rather than subjects.  As a college professor for over 20 years, I have observed my most successful students were the ones that could adapt easily to situations, self-teach, and be creative with solutions.  Technology allows students to get information in seconds, so we spent our homeschooling time learning what to do once we got the information.
